My name is Kody Russell, and A Modern Take wasn't born in a boardroom — it was born in a lifetime of fighting.
I was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) at just 6 years old. Most kids that age are worried about recess — I was facing a condition that would shape my entire life. Over the years I've undergone a colectomy and a Whipple surgery, two of the most serious operations a person can face. And just six months ago, I received a heart transplant.
There were moments where building a future felt like the least realistic thing I could hope for. But giving up has never been in my vocabulary.
A Modern Take is what happens when you refuse to quit. I built this store from scratch because I wanted something that was mine — proof that no matter what life throws at you, you can still create something meaningful.
I hand-pick every product in this store because I care about quality. I know what it's like to have people show up for you when it matters most, and I want to show up for my customers the same way.
